Nugget Falls Trail
The Nugget Falls Trail is 0.8 miles long. It begins halfway down Photo Point Trail and ends at Nugget Falls, skirting the flats at the edge of Mendenhall Lake. It is a low-gradient trail that was completed in 2010. The new construction realigned the trail so the tread is above high water on the lake. The trail is open for the following hiking only.
Last Chance Mining Museum
Experience the history of Juneau’s gold mining days through artifacts, exhibits, and a tour of a preserved mine. Original equipment, documents, and photos bring the earliest years of an industry alive.

Taku Glacier Lodge
Take a scenic flightseeing tour and enjoy a delicious meal at this remote lodge located on the Taku River. You will be astounded at the beauty in the middle of nowhere!
Tongass National Forest
The National Forest offers unique chances to view eagles, bears, spawning salmon, and the breathtaking views of “wild” Alaska. It is the nation’s largest forest with 17 million acres. One of the visitor centers is near Juneau at the Mendenhall Visitor Center.
