Kenosha Public Museum

Civil War Museum

It is like no other Civil War museum in the country. The Museum focuses on the Civil War from the perspective of the people of the seven states of the upper middle west: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

 

The Anderson Arts Center

The former Anderson residence has tranquil, landscaped grounds and gardens, a large flagstone patio facing the lake, and a uniquely arts-oriented environment reflecting the elegance of the period.

 

Simmons Island Beach

A boardwalk on the beach connects beachgoers to the pier to take photos by the North Pier Lighthouse. There is plenty of space to spread out, set up your own volleyball net, and picnic. There’s a playground near the beach and one in the park, where there’s also an open-air picnic pavilion.

 

Kenosha Sculpture Walk

The walk features ten inspiring works of art for all to enjoy Every two years, the current sculptures are removed and new sculptures are installed.

 

North Pier Lighthouse

It is now privately owned but still serves as the active, operational lighthouse for the Kenosha harbor. The lighthouse is the home of the Kenosha Lighthouse Studio, a community destination for artists and art enthusiasts.

 

Southport Light Station Museum

Kenosha’s newest museum, the Southport Light Station Museum, consists of the 1866 Southport lighthouse and the 1867 Lighthouse Keeper’s residence.

 

Electric Streetcar

Beautifully restored electric streetcars travel a 2-mile loop, providing a scenic tour of the Lake Michigan shoreline, HarborPark, the Sculpture Walk, two historic districts, and Downtown Kenosha. Ride the streetcar to restaurants, shops, museums, lakefront events, and more.

 

Kenosha Creative Space

The work of Kenosha Creative Space, a nonprofit aiming to create economic opportunities for local artists, musicians, creatives, entrepreneurs and other local organizations, takes many shapes.

 

Bristol Woods County Park

Bristol Woods Park is the most natural of all the Kenosha County Parks. This 200-acre park boasts 4.28 miles of hiking trails and is home to the Pringle Nature Center.
